Coach Geraldine Heaney bantamaa@ancastergirlshockey.ca

Geraldine Heaney is a legend in Canadian hockey and has been inducted into the International Ice Hockey Hall of Fame, the Hockey Hockey Hall of Fame, and the Canadian Sports Hall of Fame. A top scoring defence, Geraldine has won an Olympic gold and silver medal and four National Championships. She played on 16 Ontario provincial champion teams and represented Canada on seven Women's World Championship teams. Her number 91 has been retired by the Toronto Aeros Women's Hockey Association in recognition of her accomplishments. Geraldine coached six years as head coach of the University of Waterloo Women's Team. She has coached for 5 years in Ancaster and has been teaching skills for over 25 years.

Geraldine's coaching philosophy is to get a group of young girls together as a TEAM, play hard, and reach their ultimate potential while having fun. While all players should enjoy their experience as part of a team, everyone on the team is expected to put the best interest of the team first, before any thought is given to individual accomplishments. No individual, coach or player, is more important than the TEAM.
