As of December 21, 2020, the City of Hamilton has moved to the "Lockdown" Greg category within the Provincial COVID-19 Response Framework and Hamilton Public Health Services. The following closures are in place within Hamilton that affect the AAGHA membership:
For more information, please refer to the City of Hamilton website: https://www.hamilton.ca/coronavirus/affected-city-services
Therefore, as of December 21, 2020, any AAGHA teams that had arranged for pay-as-you-go ice within the City of Hamilton are suspended until further notice. Teams are encouraged to reach out to our Ice Scheduler to confirm what outstanding balances they may have with the association. As noted by the OWHA, any teams from a Grey Lockdown zone are not permitted to participate in training, modified games or scrimmages in other parts of the province. Additionally, it appears the rest of Ontario will go to lockdown on December 26, 2020. The AAGHA Board of Directors will take this time to evaluate what hockey may look like in 2021 based on further communication with the OWHA and the City under the direction of the Province.
OWHA - IMPORTANT COVID-19 UPDATE - December 23, 2020
The AAGHA Board of Directors wishes to thank all the volunteers that made the Fall 2020 season happen safely - from coaches, team managers, trainers to COVID monitors. A big thanks goes out to all of our AAGHA players and parents for following the rules and staying safe. We managed to get in over 3 months of ice time for all of our girls teams into various Development Groups from Novice to Midget. Many girls hockey associations in Ontario were not that fortunate.
Wishing you all a safe and happy holiday and looking forward to seeing you all again in the ice rinks in 2021.
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and Best Wishes for the New Year!
AAGHA Board of Directors
